THE SOUND OF AN ANKLET

In a cramped New York City apartment, Tamil-American lawyer Kanika Rajan and her husband Karthik, an actor from Chennai, India, watch their marriage quietly unravel when a golden-haired country singer moves in next door. As Karthik delights in sharing "Southern-ness" with the neighbor, Kanika attempts to save her marriage by diving deep into the 2nd century epic the Sillapatikaram. But as she reads, everything changes. An ancient tragedy resurfaces, now can Kanika escape the fate that the story seems to have sealed?
